Rovinj is situated on the western coast of Istria. It is the most important tourism center in Istria together with Porec, and one of most important on the whole Adriatic. Climate is Mediterranean in Rovinj. There are 22 islands and islets in Rovinj Archipelago. St. Andrew and St. Katherine are the biggest of them. There are 10 hotels, several campsites, hotel resorts and hotel-apartment complexes in the area of Rovinj . The largest camp in Rovinj is Valalta, which is a type of Naturist Resort, also among one of the biggest and best in Croatia. Rovinj has become associated with the martyr of St. Euphemia since her marble sarcophagus miraculously sailed to the Rovinj coast in the dawn of 13th July in 800th-year . This feast is celebrated on the 16th September. Besides St. Euphemia, visit the Heritage Museum, the Center for Historical Research, the Eco-museum "House of Batana, Municipal Theatre and other institutions.
