Viganj is a village and small harbour on the west part of the southern coast of the Peljesac Peninsula, 7 km west of Orebic zone. Chief occupations are farming, fishing and tourism. The village was inhabitated yet in the prahistoric and antique age. The parish church of St. Michael was erected in the Gothic period.

Viganj lies in a spacious bay, facing the south. Being sheltered from northern winds by Sveti Ilija Mountain it has a port for smaller yachts. The surroundings are ideal for walks and hiking and gathering of different herbs.

The interior of the island is dotted with wine trails and wine cellars where you can taste or buy homemade Peljesac wine and "prosek" - a sweet liquor made from grapes. People of Peljesac have always been farmers, grape olive, friut and vegetable growers thanks to the fertile soils and the abundance of sunshine.

Viganj is ideal for those in favour of quiet vacations and clear blue sea, and also for surfing, sailing and other water sports enthusiasts because of its favorable winds and light waves. Due to its warm climate, large pebble beach, rich vegetation and shade given by pine and olive trees, as well as its botanical garden the place is also ideal fro family vacations.
