Umag, a small town and port on the northwestern coast of Istria, presents the "Croatian door to Europe". Umag today is a city of tourism and sport. It is especially known as the Istrian sports center, being the host of ATP tournament which attracts numerous top stars of tennis.
It was discovered by the Roman nobles still in ancient times, who decided to appropriate it as their summer residence. Its luster, splendor and glamor of those times still reflect on the many Venetian houses in the old part of Umag.
Situated only 40 km from Trieste, 150 from Ljubljana and 50 nautical miles from Venice, it is a favorite vacation destination for many tourists, being a place with a remarkable excursion possibilities.
