Ciovo is an island in the central Dalmatian archipelago connected to land with a draw bridge. The bridge between land and the island is situated next to the historical town of Trogir. The island is actually an extension of Trogir which is without any doubts a town-museum of the medieval heritage. UNESCO recognized its values and included it in the registry of the world monument heritages.

Trogir is connected with the island of Ciovo by a bridge. This island was called in the past “the barn of Trogir“. As early as the Middle Ages there were the villages there such as Arbanija, Zedno, Okrug Gornji, Okrug Donji which were the part of Trogir meanwhile Slatine, a place located more to the east belonged to Split. To the west of the village Arbanije, alog the sea there was the Dominican monastery devoted to the Holy Cross, established in th 1432. It can boast of the Reneissance cloister and valuable collection of the artistic works.

Ciovo is a hilly island with the highest peak called Rudine. The villages of Arbanija, Slatine, Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji are ideal places for a quiet holiday. The wider surroundings of Ciovo is characterized by lavish green vegetation, numerous islands and islets, rocky and pebble beaches. Apart from the high quality accommodation - hotels, boarding houses, apartments, campsites, delicious domestic food, fish dishes in particular, the sports and recreation offer includes many opportunities - tennis, boccia, bowling, jogging, surfing school, diving. Entertainment includes lively fishermen's nights and folklore show but also classical music concerts in special scenic sets of the town.
