Sobra is an old fishing port of Babinopoljaci located on the northwest side of the island. Its people started to settle it between the two world wars. It is a maritime and transport centre of the island. A ferry boat from Dubrovnik arrives in Sobra daily, and two to three times a week, fast line ship from Rijeka to Dubrovnik and Split passes here. A bus drives the passengers and tourists to all the island's resorts, as well as in hotel "Ulysses" in Pomena. There is the Harbour office, restaurants, and a private guest houses newly built in Sobra.
